GLASER BUILDING

CYCLOPS CAFE
2421 1st. Ave. _ 206-441-1677

The Old Demolished Cyclops closed for good back in 97. The new, wide-open Cyclops is bigger and arguably better. And it's certainly, of the two, the one you'll want to have breakfast at. Ha ha.

Gone is the sort of kooky diner collage ambience of the old and instead, we have a slightly more refined scene. The menu has more NW flavored selections and styles, rife with the greenest of beans and other fresh yummies. Great art by local heavyweight painters adorn the Panther Room, and the mod waitpersons "ain't too shabby either". The Cyclops is located right downstairs from the ACE, so you won't at some point be able to beat that. The Cyclops will be a given, like in a math problem; a super comfy place to hang while you plot your route and destination itinerary. Excellent bathrooms, too.

No reservations necessary unless you've got a party of 6 or more cooking.

RUDY'S BARBERSHOP
89 Wall Street _ 206-448-8900

Pretty Boys and Girls will help you look your best at a laughably affordable price. Rudy's Barbershops are a place to get a great haircut, to make arrangements to finally get yourself that dreamed-of tattoo, and to look on with your neighbor. Due to the partnership and affiliation relationships Rudy's has with such hotspots as The Showbox, Rudy's barbershops are also key places to pick up tickets to shows and concerts.

The Rudy's nearest the Ace doesn't have the facilities to accommodate your wishes for that tattoo, though it's not that big a trip to either of the other 2 locations which both do. Any questions, call 206-448-8900, or ask those Pretty Boys and Girls in person when you get there.

KUHLMAN'S CLOTHING

Another shop located within the restored Glaser Building, directly downstairs from the ACE, is Kuhlman's clothing. A natty men's apparel shop where boys can pick up That Special Jacket or where their boyfriend or girlfriend might pick them up some tasteful socks. The vibe is intimate but worldy, and the clothing selection is equally both-at-once. Maybe you're the software engineer or maybe you're the hologrammic software agent actually driving the Virtual DeLorean in his web-fiction, but either way, you'll look and feel good in that black fur turtleneck or brown leather jacket with the brassy clasps. Or both.
