THE ALIBI ROOM
85 Pike St. _ 206-623-3180
![]() ![]() Directly beneath the first level of the Pike Place Market, down a winding cobblestone street plastered with an accretion of wheat-paste handbills and movie and play posters that'll serve as a great backdrop for some of your photos, you can find the Alibi Room, a smart and sassy Vodka bar. Dinners or lunches are soups salads and sandwiches, but elegant ones (you gotta love elegant soup). The weapons of choice seem scotch and cigars, and wall-mounted shelves hold hundreds of film scripts to peruse.
The Alibi Room was co-created by actors and independent film enthusiast's. The creators of the Alibi Room describe their aim as an attempt to provide an environment that works as not only a great restaurant and bar but as a stab at creating a haven for artistic community; in their own words they seek to provide "a community similar to the parisian Cafes where Hemingway helped Fitzgerald rewrite his endings". Look for their witty ads in the local Seattle papers during your stay or jump here to their website for more information: http://www.alibiroom.com © 2003 Ace Hotel, All Rights Reserved.
